Soulful Tapestry
About this project
Soulful Tapestry: A Journey to Cameroon’s Extreme North
Soulful Tapestry is a documentary exploration of food security that took me deep into Cameroon’s Extreme North region, one of the country’s most challenging and culturally rich areas. This project examines the intersection of tradition, agriculture, and survival in communities facing climate change, resource scarcity, and the daily struggle to sustain themselves. Through intimate photography and video, I captured the resilience of farmers, herders, and families navigating the delicate balance between preserving ancestral practices and adapting to modern challenges. The collection documents everything from pastoral life with cattle in the misty highlands to village routines against dramatic mountain backdrops, revealing the human stories behind food security statistics. More than a study of agriculture, Soulful Tapestry is a portrait of dignity, adaptation, and the profound connection between people and the land that sustains them—a visual chronicle of communities determined to thrive despite increasingly difficult circumstances.
